Beta Phi Gamma was started by a group of women on October 13, 1976. Our sorority was the first at Lycoming College. Our founders, Deb Mehl, Kim McCarthy, and Bette Wizorek were the first women on the Lycoming College campus to make sororities here at Lycoming possible. With the help of our founders, other sororities soon began popping up on Lycoming's campus.

Beta Phi Gamma strives to unite our sisters in the bonds of sincere and lasting friendships, to pursue knowledge, and to promote moral and social standards.

Quick Facts! We have 25 active sisters and hundreds of alumnae! Our colors are light blue, violet, and white. Flower: White Carnation Our motto: Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Beta Phi Gamma is a local sorority. This means that all of our sisters have attended Lycoming, which makes our sisterly bond completely unique. Almost 100% of our sisters are involved in other organizations, sports, and activities. We have sisters on the soccer & lacrosse teams, as well as intramural volleyball. Some of our clubs include Student Senate, Dance Club, Best Buddies, Criminal Justice Society, and so many more!
